Message Maybe its just me, but I feel like I'm seeing a lot of posts about rattles, or noises, or problems in which it seems obvious one must first be able to get under the car, and check things out, before going any further in diagnosing the trouble.

I know its getting cold out in places; and lots of guys don't have driveways or garages; but everyone should have some quick way of getting underneath for a cursory look at the bottom side of their cars. I'm not suggesting tire jacks either. I mean some quick easy way to raise the car so you can safely crawl underneath.

When I was a kid, we didn't have a garage, so I used a high curb next to the driveway. If I drove the right front wheel up on to the curb, and chocked the rear tires, there would be enough space for me to crawl under from the right side or the front.

My neighbor had an old fashioned concrete split driveway with a strip of lawn in the center. He dug a 12-14"" pit between the concrete strips and could slide underneath for a quick oil change or to trouble shoot. Even some $50 Rhino drive up ramps will get you get halfway under either the front or the back of the car.

Personally, I can't imagine owning a Z32 and not being able to get underneath whenever I wanted, or needed to.
